Dunkeld & Birnam are actually two towns merged together on opposite banks of the River Tay at the gateway of the Highlands.
Known for it's love affiar with famous author and illustrator Beatrix Potter whose family rented many houses here during her life, it is said to be where she drafted her first book "The Tale of Peter Rabbit".
Dunkeld is also famous for its Jacobite history and Cathedral architecture that is apparent throughout the two towns still today.
